Searching NTK Resources
Learn how to use NTK's resources whenever you want from the comfort of your own computer. If you encounter any problems or require additional help, view our videotutorials, or reach out to us at: info@techlib.cz. You need to be registered to be able to access NTK electronic resources.
You can search and access NTK materials in several ways. Use the library search box and tools located at the top of every library web page. You can also access documents from our electronic collections using Google Scholar.

If you want to access full texts in the NTK collection, log in to My account at the top right of the main page with your username and password.
NTK Discovery Tool
Use the search box at the top of every library web page to search NTK's print collection and electronic content (eBooks and eJournals) the library provides as well as openly available materials.
You can narrow your results using operators (e.g. AND, OR, NOT, *), left side bar options, or specify your search with Advanced search.
For print materials, an item's location is included in its record. To see if the item is on the shelf or checked out by someone else, click on its title and then on In catalog – see an example.
To access full text, click on the item's title or select the Full Text Online link.
- If you are not logged in or working in your institution's network, you need to select your institution and preferred provider.
- If prompted, log in with your username and password.
When going through the list of items retrieved by NTK's Discovery Tool, pay attention to the names of content providers and individual journals. If you see a pattern of documents relevant to your topic occurring from a specific provider or particular journal, you can also search within these to get even better search results.
Catalog
Locate and check the availability of NTK print collection materials. Search by keyword, title, author, ISBN, use Search Tips or Advanced Search. You can narrow your results using operators (e.g. AND, OR, NOT, *) or right side bar options.
To check the current availability, place a hold on an item in the storage or recall currently borrowed title, open its record (Status column).

For print materials in NTK, the Library of Congress Classification is used. To locate materials from a specific field in the NTK building, use Open Stacks Guide tool.
If you want to access full texts in the NTK collection, log in to My account at the top right of the main page with your username and password.
eBook Search
If you are looking for a specific eBook, select eBook Search under the main search box. Search by title, International Standard Book Number (ISBN), or author. To access the book, click on its title.
- Select your institution and preffered provider.
- If prompted, log in with your username and password.

If you want to access full texts in the NTK collection, log in to My account at the top right of the main page with your username and password.
Journal Search
To locate a specific eJournal, select Journal Search under the main search box. Search using the journal’s title or its International Standard Serial Number (ISSN). Access the journal full text by clicking its title.
- Select your institution and preferred provider.
- If prompted, log in with your username and password.
If you want to access full texts in the NTK collection, log in to My account at the top right of the main page with your username and password.
All eResources
You can access popular resources from the main library page under the Selected eResources heading.
If you select All eResources under the main search box, you will get a list of all content providers the library offers. You can use filters to find resources relevant to a particular subject or in a particular format or language. To access any of these from home, select the via NTK button or Open access link. For more information about the resource and subscription, select Description.
Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services
If you need a book or a copy of an article that our library does not have, we can order it for you. To use this service, please fill in the form - we provide both domestic and international library loan services.
Check this service also with your university library - there might be better conditions for their students (e.g. UCT, CTU).
